They said chocolate is ground from the beans of happiness. Certainly, chocolates have been one of the greatest comfort food for everyone. Whether you're having the best time of your life and rewarding yourself or having a bad day and looking for something to lighten up the mood, all you have to do is grab a bar or two and let chocolatey goodness work its magic!
Aside from eating your chocolates straight up, there are other ways to enjoy your chocolate, and it is such a delight for us to share that with you! Just when you thought you knew everything about chocolates, let us surprise you with these chocolate dishes from all around the world!
1.Daube de Boeuf À la Gasconne (Gascon-Style Beef Stew) - FRANCE
This warm and delectable beef and root vegetable stew from France is traditionally slow-braised with brandy, wine and, of course, chocolate. Once slow-braised, it is usually finished with a generous amount of dark chocolate and served with a pile of root vegetables such as potatoes, parsnips and carrots. You can also have it with country bread on the side. What a perfect fall and winter comfort food!
Pasta and chocolate together? While that may not sound appealing, you'll be surprised as this is something beyond what you can imagine. If you think that sweet pasta sounds like a disaster in the making, well, as a matter of fact, the cocoa powder imbues the strands of tagliatelle with just about the right amount of bitterness. This pasta is best served with cheesy Gorgonzola sauce and walnuts!
Champorado is a traditional Filipino sweet chocolate rice porridge made with sticky rice, sweetener, and "tablea," which is a ball of fermented pure (100%) cacao beans. This yummy and sweet porridge can be eaten during breakfast, snack time or as a dessert! Served with evaporated milk on top, this dish is definitely shouting all-day chocolate madness!
One of Guatemala's heritage dishes, this dessert is made of plantain bananas soaked in chocolate and mole sauce. The sauce is incorporated with pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds and cinnamon. It is sprinkled with more sesame seeds and sugar to taste when served. Mole sauce, chocolate and banana together sound like a unique combination to try, right? If you're one of those who relatively enjoy chilli and chocolate-combo, this one is for you!
What could go wrong with a dessert with three main ingredients: condensed milk, butter, and cocoa powder? These velvety soft, sweet and creamy fudge balls covered with toppings are just irresistible! No wonder they're one of Brazil's favourite and most devoured desserts!
It's never boring to explore new varieties of dishes, especially with CHOCOLATE infused in them! Make sure to look up and try these dishes at home and enjoy a HAPPY-CHOCOLATE-Y Day with your family and friends, any day and anywhere!
